For
those of you that like outdoor sports there are excellent
prospects and a wealth of outdoor activities in the far west of Cornwall.

Walking
– Stretch your legs on the beautiful South
West Way. Raftra Farm holiday cottage is ideally situated for walks
to Lands End and Sennen, Porthgwarra and Gwennap Head,
Porthchapel, Porthcurno and Treen. |
Rock
Climbing – The golden granite sea
cliffs of Cornwall provide some of the best adventure
climbing in Britain.
Porthgwarra is famous for rock climbing with the classic
Cornish climb the ‘Chair
Ladder’. There are also excellent climbs at
Sennen
Cove and Bosigran (the longest climb in West penwith).
If you want to go bouldering then head for Pedn-Vounder,
Porthcurno, Gwynver
or Godrevy Point.

Surfing
- Sennen cove Boasts one of the finest surfing breaks
in the Cornwall with its own Surf School at the Sennen
Surfing Centre. All surf instructors at Sennen are BSA qualified
Lifeguards, you can hire surfboards & equipment
and their is always expert advice on hand.
You can also have to one surfing
tuition at Sennen Cove, this can be from beginner lessons
up to the more advanced surfer seeking advice from the
ex British Champion John Buchorski and Local ripper
Sam Smart.
There are some other excellent surfing breaks in the area include which include Gwenver beach
and Porthmeor beach on the North Coast; Porthcurno Beach, Praa sands and Porthleven if the swell is more southerly.

Paragliding
– If you are a Club Pilot wanting to experience the Cornish coast at its best, then try some
some stress free coastal paragliding. The closest paragliding site to Raftra Farm is Sennen which takes a north westerly. |

Sea Fishing
can be enjoyed from many of the beaches or cliff headlands, if you're lucky you may catch your supper.
There is an abundance of local
birdwatching locations, here is a
guide to make viewing easy.
The far west of Cornwall also offers
excellent golf
courses and there are horse
riding stables nearby.
And if you've time you can always travel
to the Isles
of Scilly
